🚙 News Reviews, Practical Pods, and a Bold Patchwork Porche
They say golf is a game of patience and precision. But this week, it was all heart.
Some of us had the opportunity to spend the beginning of the week with the team at Beaver Toyota for their annual charity golf tournament and boy-oh-boy was it a blast (we even have video below to prove it!).
From the warm hospitality to the incredible turnout and support, the event was a masterclass in what it looks like to lead with purpose. We couldn’t be more grateful to witness it firsthand, or to call their team our friends.
Keep Pushing Back,

The Daily Pushback Email
We kicked off Monday with EV debates, talking cars, and a whole lotta culture. Rivian took shots at the legacy crowd, Tesla’s rolling out Grok in cars, and Starbucks is getting mixed reviews on its new “connection” policy. Plus, WOCAN passed the torch and Ford topped the recall charts (again). 🙄
Then on Tuesday, we got a fresh batch of 40 Under 40 stars, a reality check on used EVs, and a Grok bot that kinda showed up. Leases kept EV demand alive, tariff talk shook up global nerves, and Subaru reminded us that love and service stick around long after the sale. 🥰
On Wednesday, Mohawk Chevrolet got some overdue props, Ford stepped up with flood relief, and everyone from Kia to GM laid their next big move on the table. Signals are shifting fast, EV plans are stalling, and even YouTube is calling out lazy AI content. 🤖
By Thursday, Stellantis had scrapped hydrogen vans, GM flipped the EV script, and Reddit sparked a debate on online pricing transparency. Meanwhile, power bills are expected to jump 13% by 2035—just as dealers get more plugged in. Oh, and turns out Grateful Dead fans kinda invented the internet. 🤯
Finally it was Friday. Franchise laws hit the spotlight as DOJ scrutiny looms, and Volvo trimmed its U.S. lineup. Meanwhile, Demmer Ford stepped up with a new F-150 for a local hero who stopped a tragedy. 🦸🏾♂️
PODCASTS
Auto Collabs
John Sacco joins us on Auto Collabs to explain why recycled metals are a lot more than scrap. He shares how copper, aluminum, and steel are keeping everything from hospitals to highways running (plus every vehicle made in America).

This episode will make you think differently about what your car is really made of.
Unscripted
In this conversation of Unscripted at ASTOU CON 2025, Enrique Gago of Gago Brothers Automotive shares how one favor for his girlfriend turned into both a career and a calling.
Host Erroll Bomar III sits down with Enrique to talk about building trust in a small town, leading with values, and turning everyday work into something meaningful.
The Dealer Playbook
Tires might not be the flashiest part of a dealership, but according to David Pulla, they could be one of the most overlooked tools for building retention, boosting profitability, and keeping service bays full.
In this Dealer Playbook episode, David shares what dealers can do right now to rethink their parts and service strategy, use data to move inventory smarter, and turn a basic tire rotation into a reason customers keep coming back. He also breaks down what EVs mean for the tire game—and why it’s time to pay attention.

FORE-th Annual Golf Tournament at Beaver Toyota
Beaver Toyota’s 4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament teed up yet another big win for the community. With help from sponsors, players, and a few miracle putts, they raised $160K for four incredible nonprofits.
Bald Ridge Lodge, Heroes of Forsyth County, Jesse’s House, and Make-A-Wish Georgia all walked away with serious support. It wasn’t just about a day of golf in the beautiful sunshine, it was about showing up and giving back.
From the first swing to the final bid, Beaver proved once again that some drives go a lot further than the green.
SOMETHING FUN
Porche Meets Project Runway
Sean Wotherspoon just gave a vintage Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS a full makeover and it’s weird in all the best ways.
The artist known for his colorful Nike collabs turned the car into a rolling patchwork of bold color and retro materials.
The outside pulls from old-school VW Harlequin vibes with every panel a different shade. Inside, it’s covered in vintage Levi’s denim, flannel, corduroy, and even cork.
“It’s about using as much color as possible in a way that sparks curiosity,” said Wotherspoon. “Nature never gets criticized for being colorful. This project was my way of bringing that same beauty to the road.”
It certainly turned heads the moment it hit LA streets. And proves once again that cars (and car culture) can be whatever you want them to be. The only limits are your imagination and your effort.
