📈 Wholesale Prices, Pope’s EV, and Rivian’s Charging Play
giphy
Rivian and Tesla dominate the EV chatter, with Rivian earning sky-high customer satisfaction while tripping over reliability issues—and Tesla keeping it edgy with Cybertruck recalls and charging moves. Dodge, meanwhile, flexes its muscle car identity with an electric Charger ad that calls other EVs “soulless,” because why not?
The Pope is going green with an EV Popemobile, proving holiness and horsepower can coexist. Rolls-Royce offers a DIY luxury experience with a $5,500 miniature model, for those who need bespoke in bite-size. Colorado has dethroned California as the EV capital, thanks to big tax incentives, while Toyota pumps the brakes on its 621-mile Lexus EV until 2027.
VinFast is doubling its production with a new factory, and France hit 15% EV adoption—led by the retro-cool Renault 5.
Whether you’re here for the drama, the data, or the snark, this digest has something for everyone.
What AI Texting Should Look Like
Foureyes now does follow-up texting unlike anything you’ve seen before in automotive.
It’s not the pushy and repetitive, "Want to schedule a test drive?" messages from AI that get ignored.
Instead, your prospects get the information they want about the vehicles they shopped on your site.
Price drops. Inventory changes. Answers to questions about heated seats ... all of it.
It's AI-powered follow-up texts they’ll actually respond to.
🥇 Colorado Takes First Place in EV Sales
Tenor
Colorado now leads the nation in EV sales, with 25.3% of new vehicles sold in Q3 2024 being electric. The Centennial State has set the pace, combining strong incentives and infrastructure to supercharge adoption.
How did this happen? It’s not just luck—Colorado’s EV surge is powered by:
Incentives — Up to $12,500 in combined state and federal tax credits, including $6,000 for trading in older vehicles.
Infrastructure — Over 5,500 public charging ports, with 576 more set for 2024.
Tesla remains the clear leader in EV sales across both the Eastern and Western ZEV states, with the Model Y dominating in every region.
Eastern ZEV States — In states like NY, MA, and NJ, Tesla’s Model Y leads with 53,417 units sold through Q3 2024, followed by the Model 3 at 18,021 units. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe (14,481 units), Toyota RAV4 Prime (8,456), and Hyundai IONIQ 5 (5,015) also perform well, aided by competitive lease deals.
Western ZEV States — Out West, Tesla’s dominance intensifies: the Model Y sold a massive 128,818 units, with the Model 3 at 47,984. The Hyundai IONIQ 5 (18,042), Toyota RAV4 Prime (12,107), and the new Tesla Cybertruck (9,850) are also gaining traction.
