Wholesale values are softening fast, trucks, SUVs, and now luxury cars leading the drop, while retail affordability keeps moving the other way. If your guide numbers haven't caught up to this week's market, you're either overpaying at auction or underpricing the gap to your customer. Either one costs you.

The Real Lesson Inside Carvana's Record Quarter

If you squint, it looks exactly like a Carvana location
Carvana posted its biggest quarter ever: 197,325 vehicles sold and $7.4 billion in revenue, up 38% year over year, with three more ADESA sites bringing its retail production network to 19 locations.
That sales volume puts us at just 2% market share of the used car market, and 1.5% of the auto retail market as a whole.

Reconditioning Speed and Convenience Are Doing the Real Work
Centralized, dedicated reconditioning is what lets Carvana turn inventory fast enough to convert shoppers before they look elsewhere. Just as telling, customers earning over $100,000 grew more than 60% year over year as Carvana leaned into convenience, not just price, for buyers who already pay for it everywhere else in their lives.
What This Means for Your Store
Map your own reconditioning path this week. If used inventory routes through the same shop as service work, that's real turn time lost. Carvana's edge isn't its size, it's doing a couple of things well while its market share is still small enough for any store to compete on execution.
