SOMETHING FUN

Gadgets and Gizmos Galore from CES 2025

This year’s CES didn’t disappoint, offering a pleasant mix of practical innovations and eyebrow-raising oddities. While big names in AI and automotive tech made waves, it was the quirky gadgets that captured much of the spotlight.

Like Kirin’s Electric Salt Spoon, for example. It promises healthier eating with a shocking twist—quite literally. The spoon uses electric currents to enhance the taste of low-sodium food. Though the reviews were mixed, the concept of tricking your tongue into tasting salt is undeniably inventive. Already available in Japan, it earned its place as one of the strangest (and healthiest) products at the show.

Roborock

Meanwhile, Roborock’s Saros Z70 is taking robot vacuums to the next level. Equipped with a built-in mechanical arm, this hybrid vacuum and mop can pick up stray objects before cleaning, finally solving the issue of sucked up socks.

With an expected price of $2,000 when it officially launches in April, it’s definitely not for everyone. But, it does pave the way for future do-it-all robots.

Anker Solix

For those who prefer charging on the go, Anker’s solar poncho turns you into a walking power station.

With 30W output and perovskite cells for higher efficiency, it’s perfect for staying juiced outdoors. Pair it with Anker’s SOLIX parasol, and you’ve got shade, power, and zero excuses for a dead battery.
