🚙 Industry Highlights, Title Tips, and Dealerships Making Moves

Welcome to Thursday, Friend!
You know, writing daily content is about 84% reading, so we do a LOT of reading. Some of you write blogs, books, or 2-mile long LinkedIn posts. When you do, send them our way, tag us, or just send us a DM.
We’re always looking to expand our digital newsstand. (Yeah, we Googled it twice. It’s spelled “newsstand” despite how hard to look at it is.)

In today's auto headlines, we’re looking at major stories shaping the industry:
Kia’s EV3 Upgrades: Kia is adding AWD and GT variants to its EV3 lineup, with U.S. orders opening soon. With a starting price around $30,000 and a 372-mile range, it’s a serious contender for the U.S. market.
Stellantis’ Big Michigan Investment: Stellantis is betting big on electric and hybrid vehicles with a $406M investment in Michigan plants, as they gear up to launch fully electric vehicles by 2030.
New-Vehicle Prices Continue to Drop: For the 11th straight month, new-vehicle prices have fallen. With more inventory and higher incentives (up 49% YOY), now might be the best time to snag a deal.

Never Miss Another Phone-Up Again
Your dealership phone numbers are everywhere—Google, mail, ads—driving 75% of your inbound calls. But, you certainly don't want all of them logged in your CRM (e.g. service calls, telemarketers, or your lot attendant’s mom).
Only real sales leads matter. A new Foureyes upgrade ensures every phone-up you get—even those not on your website—is tracked and logged to your CRM. And it all happens behind the scenes.
Join Foureyes for a 15-minute discussion to learn what this means for dealerships, how it works, and how both current Foureyes customers and other dealerships can get started.

Why? Because each call you paid for can make or break your month.
The Dealership Market is Booming
giphy
The first half of 2024 has seen the dealership buy/sell market hit an all-time record — a whopping 204 dealership transactions were completed, representing a staggering 381 franchises sold. 😲
If this pace continues, we’re looking at over 760 franchises sold by year’s end.
👉 The market’s booming, but not all brands are reaping the rewards. Check out our latest newsletter for the stats, the deals, and what it all means for the future. 👀

Quick Hits: Tri-Fold, Inflation, Saturday Night
Huawei has launched the world’s first tri-fold phone, the Mate XT Ultimate Design, starting at $2,809, making it even more expensive than a 16-inch MacBook Pro. 🤷
In August 2024, inflation rose 2.5%—the lowest increase since February 2021—signaling that inflationary pressures are easing, though housing costs remain stubbornly high, accounting for 70% of the core inflation increase. 📈
“SATURDAY NIGHT” a movie about the early days of Saturday Night live, has a new trailer. 🎥
Today in History: Highways, The Moon, and Beyond
1912: Carl Fisher and James Allison introduced the vision for the first transcontinental highway, later named the Lincoln Highway. Initially seeking $10M from private sources, they lacked Henry Ford's support, but naming it after President Abraham Lincoln helped secure $1.7M in federal funding. Officially designated on October 31, 1913, the highway spanned 3,389 miles, connecting New York City to San Francisco and passing through 13 states. This landmark road opened new opportunities for travel and migration across the U.S., and while it was gradually replaced by the Numbered Highway System in 1926, parts of the original Lincoln Highway still exist today. 🛣️
1962: President John F. Kennedy announces that America will place a man on the moon and safely return him before the year 1970. 🧑🚀
2013: NASA confirms that its Voyager 1 probe has become the first manmade object to enter interstellar space. 🛰️
