ICYMI

  • On Monday, we peeked into the data wars, called out automakers moonlighting as data brokers, and cheered Toyota’s eco-innovation. Meanwhile, Tesla juggled recalls, robotaxis, and Cybertruck chaos. Over at the service drive, a webinar showed how data turns wrenches into sales. Plus, spending rose, drones got smarter, and George Washington called it quits (again).

  • On Tuesday, Honda and Nissan confirmed a 2026 merger to take on EV titans Tesla and BYD. VW struck a deal with unions, California’s 2035 EV dream faced reality checks, and WOCAN spotlighted leadership with scholarships for minority women. Meanwhile, AAA forecasted record-breaking holiday travel, and the Supreme Court weighed in on TikTok’s platform fight.

  • Christmas brought us White House holiday splendor with 165,000 lights, a carousel-themed tree, and 50 pounds of icing on a gingerbread White House. Meanwhile, More Than Cars reminded us why people matter most in this business.

  • Thursday brought shakeups with Ford losing its recall crown, Stellantis paying for emissions missteps, and VW’s Scout brand facing legal drama from California dealers. Mohawk Honda’s “12 Days of Giving” campaign showed how community-driven generosity creates lasting impact.

  • Friday closed the week with Toyota balancing production cuts and soaring sales, BYD addressing labor scandals in Brazil, and Nissan-Honda merger critics raising eyebrows. The Fed hinted at two rate cuts in 2025 as inflation lingers, while the used vehicle market stayed resilient despite affordability challenges.
