🎄 A White (House) Christmas

Step aside, rookie—this year’s White House holiday display is taking Christmas spirit to new heights (quite literally, thanks to an 18½-foot Fraser Fir).

With 165,000 twinkling lights, 28,125 ornaments, and a gingerbread White House built with 50 pounds of icing, it’s the winter wonderland we all wish our holiday budgets could afford.

The theme, a “Season of Peace and Light,” shines through every detail. The East Colonnade’s suspended sleigh bells echo holiday tranquility, while the Blue Room’s dazzling carousel-themed tree celebrates every state and territory. Even the East Room crèche, dating back to the 18th century, brings historical elegance to the display.

With everything from paper doves symbolizing unity to Thomas Jefferson’s Green Room turned into a prism of color, the People’s House has been dressed to impress this holiday season.
