🏆 Raymond L. Farabaugh Named 2025 TIME Dealer of the Year at NADA Show

The National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Show in New Orleans set the stage for a momentous announcement today: Raymond L. Farabaugh, president of D-Patrick Inc. in Evansville, Indiana, is the 2025 TIME Dealer of the Year. Farabaugh was chosen from 49 distinguished nominees nationwide, each representing the best of what it means to be a dealer—leaders in business and champions for their communities.
For Farabaugh, a career in automotive retail has been about more than selling cars. “The most rewarding aspect of my automotive career has been witnessing the growth and success of my employees,” he said. “By empowering individuals and providing them with the tools they need to succeed, I’ve created a high-performing team that is committed to delivering exceptional customer service and driving the company forward.”
Farabaugh began with a psychology degree from the University of Dayton and a corporate role at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in Dallas. A decade later, he joined his father-in-law, D. Patrick O’Daniel, at the family’s auto group. After years of mentorship, leadership development, and a stint at the NADA Academy, Farabaugh and his brother-in-law acquired D-Patrick Inc. in 1999. Today, they oversee multiple franchises, with Farabaugh focusing on growth, profitability, and cultivating talent from within.
Beyond the dealership walls, Farabaugh’s impact is just as profound. Under his leadership, D-Patrick Inc. invests hundreds of thousands annually into local causes, including the Ark Crisis Children’s Center, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and Evansville Boys & Girls Club. His employees are encouraged and empowered to engage in community service during work hours, exemplifying the company’s deep commitment to corporate citizenship.

One standout initiative is the Koch Family Children’s Museum of Evansville’s “Play It Forward” campaign. Farabaugh supported his controller’s campaign leadership, which has raised over $5 million toward a $6.5 million goal. “This not only serves our community but enhances our company,” Farabaugh said.
As the TIME Dealer of the Year, Farabaugh represents the pinnacle of leadership, service, and integrity. His journey from mentee to mentor and his dedication to both his team and his community make him a true champion of the industry.
He accepted the award with humility, pointing to the other nominees and highlighting the good they each do for their community. Then, he thanked his family one member at a time, reminding us all that when somebody contributes to a community and industry as Raymond has, the whole family participates.
Congratulations, Raymond L. Farabaugh, on this well-deserved honor!
