💾 Tesla’s Superchargers, Toyota’s Hydrogen Leap, and Jaguar’s Luxe Makeover

Tesla’s cranking the volts with its V4 Superchargers—faster, better, and ready to outpace traffic jams. Meanwhile, Musk teases big family EVs again (yawn, let us know when it’s real).

Toyota’s freezing hydrogen at -253°C,

Jaguar’s leaping into Bentley territory, and Xiaomi’s EVs are flying off the shelves (literally faster than Tesla’s Model 3 in China).

Volkswagen wants to save pedestrians with a hood that plays pop-up pillow, Lucid is all about luxury over affordability, and CATL’s sodium-ion batteries might just out-chill your freezer.

Innovation is cool, but drama? Even cooler. Stay plugged in, folks.

Who is the Real Expert?

With an overwhelming amount of information available online, your customers are spending 10, 15, 20 hours researching their next vehicle before reaching out or even setting foot in the showroom.

They can be so well informed that they know more than your sales team, creating this weird imbalance in the sales process.

How do you fix that and make every sales person an expert on every vehicle on your lot? TradePending has some ideas...

🏆 Guess Who Dominated Residual Value…Again

J.D. Power’s 2025 U.S. ALG Residual Value Awards are here, and it’s no shocker—Lexus and Honda are still on top.

For the fourth year in a row, these brands have taken top honors as the best premium and mass market brands, showing that disciplined pricing and smart incentives aren’t just good for customers—they’re a winning strategy for dealerships, too.

  • Remind me—what is ALG? Residual value, measured by ALG (Automotive Lease Guide), predicts how much a vehicle will be worth after three years. This is a key factor in lease pricing and trade-in values.

  • Top Brand Performers — Lexus led the pack with five model-level wins (IS, LS, NX, RX, TX), followed by Honda with three (Civic, Passport, Odyssey) and Toyota with four (GR Supra, Camry, Land Cruiser, Tundra). A total of 16 brands earned awards across 33 segments.

  • Why It Matters — Long-term value sells. Vehicles with higher residuals cost less to lease and retain better trade-in value, which can help dealerships close more deals, attract loyal customers, and maintain strong relationships with lenders.

🥊 Quick Hits: Spending, Cables, and Popeye

  • Walmart’s strong forecast reflects shifting U.S. consumer behavior: inflation’s decline boosts purchasing power, with affluent shoppers embracing value, convenience, and online growth ahead of the holidays. 🎅

  • Disrupted Baltic cables highlight U.S. fears of undersea sabotage, underscoring Americans' reliance on global infrastructure for security, connectivity, and geopolitical stability. ✂️

  • First Pooh, now Popeye. A horror movie featuring the spinach-addicted sailor is coming. Who asked for this? 🍃

🔁 Today in History: Rights, Lights, and WIndows

  • 1789: New Jersey becomes the first U.S. state to ratify the Bill of Rights. 🇺🇸

  • 1923: Garrett Morgan patents three position traffic light. 🚦

  • 1985: Microsoft Windows 1.0, the first graphical personal computer operating environment developed by Microsoft, is released. 🖥️
