🛑 Direct Sales Battle Heats Up

Sony Honda Mobility’s Afeela EVs are bypassing dealers, but NADA isn’t backing down. With legal battles brewing and California already clashing with VW-backed Scout Motors, the franchise vs. direct sales war is escalating fast.

🏆 Edmunds’ 2025 Award Winners

The Honda Civic Hybrid leads the pack with its 49 mpg and perfect balance of fun and practicality. Toyota’s Grand Highlander, Tesla’s Model 3, and Rivian’s R1T also dominate their categories. These picks are must-know for dealers tracking what’s hot this year.

✂️ Tesla’s Model Y Discount Blitz

Prices plummet below $40K on inventory units, thanks to the $7,500 tax credit. With the Juniper refresh around the corner, Tesla’s aggressive pricing could set new EV benchmarks and shake up dealership strategies.

Highlighting Dealers Making a Difference: Hunter Automotive Group and Habitat for Humanity

giphy

At ASOTU, we believe in celebrating dealers who go beyond the showroom to make a lasting impact on their communities. One standout example is Hunter Automotive Group in Fletcher, N.C., whose commitment to giving back started during the Great Recession.

In 2009, as the economy faltered, Hunter Automotive thrived and decided to share its success. The group funded and built a Habitat for Humanity home—“The House That Hunter Built”—the first corporate-sponsored Habitat home in Henderson County. Employees rallied together, raising money and wielding tools to bring the project to life.

This initiative sparked the creation of the Hunter Hometown Foundation, which has donated over $2 million to local causes in just six years. Most recently, the foundation provided grants to rebuild communities affected by Hurricane Helene, while also assisting employees who lost their homes.

For Hunter Automotive, philanthropy isn’t a box to check—it’s a cornerstone of their identity. 👏
