🏎️ Rick Hendrick Buys a $3.7M Corvette for a Good Cause

Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction

Rick Hendrick, the dealer and NASCAR team owner, just made it very expensive to be the fastest man in America. At the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, he dropped $3.7 million to own the first retail production 2025 Chevy Corvette ZR1—America’s new speed king with a top speed of 233 mph.

And before you start grumbling about rich guys having all the cool toys like Pokémon cards (he does, in fact, have 20 of such cars), know this: every single dollar of that bid is going straight to the American Red Cross to help victims of Hurricanes Helene and Milton in North Carolina and wildfire survivors in California.

The Fastest Check Ever Written for Charity

The bidding war started at a casual $1 million, but that was just warm-up laps. Another bidder (somewhere on a phone, probably sweating) kept the numbers climbing until Hendrick slammed the brakes at $3.7 million. The only other car to ever hit that number at Barrett-Jackson? Also a Corvette, also bought by Rick Hendrick.

In total, this one auction raised $6.2 million for charity, and Hendrick alone has dropped over $25 million at Barrett-Jackson over the years, all for good causes. He even personally helped deliver relief supplies to hurricane-ravaged communities in NC.

Love People More Than You Love Cars? Why Not Both?

Hendrick isn’t just collecting cars—he’s making sure his passion serves a purpose. He’s proof that dealers aren’t just selling cars; they’re out here building communities, supporting charities, and literally saving lives.

So, while he’ll never drive that 233-mph ZR1 (he never drives any of his collectibles—yes, really), he’s still making an impact that’s moving way faster than any car ever could.
