Q3 is a story of triumph and… delayed triumph. As policies and tariffs continue affecting the direction of global automakers, dealers are tasked with translating the facts into the truth for shoppers, buyers, and communities.

Mercedes-Benz Q3 deliveries fell 12% as tariffs and soft demand hit the luxury segment. EV sales were flat, underscoring buyer caution at higher price points.

Aston Martin issued a profit warning, citing tariff turmoil and a complex U.S.–U.K. quota system. Forecasts are down as costs climb, signaling luxury’s exposure to policy shifts.

Lucid’s deliveries rose 47% year over year, fueled by the expiring federal EV credit. With incentives gone, dealers should expect more questions about timing and pricing in Q4.

Used-vehicle prices held steady in September, with Manheim’s index nearly unchanged. Affordability continues to drive demand, particularly under $30,000, as buyers stretch for reliability over novelty.

Also in AutoIndustry.AI: how the government shutdown dims key data streams, and why OpenAI’s Sora 2 may reshape dealership storytelling.
