News: Tariffs, Inventory, and Manufacturing

🚨 Inventory is down. Prices are up.

Spring shoppers showed up. OEMs? Not so much. Inventory dipped 7.4% in April while prices climbed past $48.6K. Tariffs are fueling the uncertainty, and dealers are stuck balancing tight lots with twitchy customers.

🐘 The Hummer EV gets scary fast.

GMC’s 2026 Hummer EV 3X now hits 60 mph in 2.8 seconds. It’s officially a weapon. Also: new off-road tricks, bidirectional charging, and limited-edition carbon fiber clout. Not your average lease special—but definitely showroom bait.

⛔️ Ram’s EV delay… again.

The 1500 REV is now a 2028 model. The Ramcharger plug-in is bumped to 2026. Stellantis says “quality control.” We say “demand is soft.” Either way, don’t wait—pivot to hybrids and keep conquesting with Ford and GM offerings.

📉 U.S. manufacturing hit the brakes.

Auto production fell 1.9% in April. Tariffs are complicating sourcing and killing momentum. If you’re not reviewing your supply mix, now’s the time.

⚡️ Lucid: Tariff-proof, kind of.

Lucid’s Q1 deliveries jumped, and OEMs are eyeing its Arizona plant as a tariff workaround. Lucid could become the Foxconn of EVs.

60% of car shoppers still consider EVs. Charging and cost are still hurdles, but the flood of new models and wild lease deals are keeping eyes on electric.
