đźš— Are EV Sales Really Crashing?
🚙 Volvo down, Ford down, Honda Prologue imploding — here’s the real story.

TOGETHER WITH
Shout-out to Event Motoring owner Eric Tims, who just launched a student internship program, giving local teens hands-on experience in running a dealership.
By day, he’s bringing in luxury vehicles; after school, he’s handing out opportunity. These internships teach entrepreneurship, business operations, and professional work habits in real time.
“They see what this looks like, and for some, it changes their path in school or college.”
Investing in the community, knowing that some day those investments will return passionate dealership professionals!

Sometimes, auto is a lot more like a garden than a puzzle.
Keep Pushing Back,

THE NEWS
EV Slump, Soft Traffic, and Tariff Jiu-Jitsu
What do falling Volvo sales, Ford and Hyundai’s EV drag, an 86% crash in Honda Prologue volume, Nissan reworking its U.S. supply chain, and a gloomy Cox dealer sentiment report actually mean on the ground?
If you’ve been searching things like “Are EV sales crashing?”, “Why are dealer profits falling?”, or “How will tariffs affect car prices in the U.S.?” — you’re not alone.
Instead of opening five tabs, here’s the full dealer-centered breakdown — fast, factual, and fully stand-alone.
Data: Are EV Sales Crashing?

giphy
Volvo
Volvo’s November global sales fell 10% to 60,244 units, with year-to-date volume down 8%. Fully electric sales were up 4% and now make up 24% of their mix, but electrified (BEV+PHEV) share slipped to 50% as demand — especially in a post-tax-credit U.S. — stayed soft.
Ford & Hyundai (U.S.)
Ford’s EV sales (Mach-E + F-150 Lightning) plunged 61% to 4,247 units in November. Overall, Ford U.S. sales only dipped ~1% to 164,925.
Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 and 6 each fell 55%+ in November EV sales, while total sales were down 2%. Hybrids? Up 42%.
Honda Prologue
Once a top-selling EV, the Prologue fell 86% in November — from 6,800+ units a year ago to just 903. Across the brand, Honda sold over 102,000 vehicles in the U.S. last month… and only 925 were fully electric (<1%). Honda’s still dangling nearly $17,000 off some Prologue trims to keep it moving.
This is not “EV apocalypse.” It’s more post–tax credit hangover plus some bad pricing and positioning. Hybrids and “electrified” are where the gravity is right now.
Policy: How are Automakers Dealing with Tariffs?

giphy
Nissan’s CFO told CNBC they’re leaning hard into dual sourcing and localized U.S. production to blunt tariff impact. Extra capacity at U.S. plants + more domestic content = more ways to keep pricing somewhat sane even as trade rules shift.
Long term, this is good for U.S. inventory stability. The game is moving from “Can we get product?” to “Can we move the mix we’re getting?”
Dealership: How Do Auto Dealers Feel About Q4?

giphy
Cox’s Q4 2025 Dealer Sentiment Index is…not cheerful.
Current market sentiment: 38 (down from 43)
Future outlook: 42 (down from 46)
Customer traffic: record low 31 (in-person 29, digital 40)
Profit sentiment: 36
New-vehicle sales sentiment: 49
Used-vehicle sentiment: 42
New-vehicle inventory: 59 (growing)
Used inventory: tight at 43
Future EV sales sentiment (franchised): down to 24; EV leasing at 27
More new-vehicle inventory, weaker traffic, squeezed profits, and almost no one feeling bullish on EVs.
