For us, the ASOTU Crew is simply our favorite. Sure, you all are our fam and everyone is an honorary crew member! We just love our team and could not be more proud and thankful for what they accomplish in our industry every day. We literally couldn’t do all this with out them.

That’s why when the team grows we get so excited. We are welcoming a familiar face in Kelli Verdi to the team as Creative Director and would love it if you would too!

It takes all of us to shift the culture and rewrite the perception of retail auto!

DEALERS

Branding Counts with ATUC

Giphy/NBC

Today's automotive industry is not just about selling cars. It's about creating a personal brand and harnessing the power of digital marketing to reach wider audiences. This transformation emphasizes the salesperson's role in creating a distinct brand to attract customers and produce significant results.

On last week's All Things Used Cars, David Long invited Ian Macklin to share his experience developing his brand into 50 monthly sales. We took notes, but you can listen to the reply on Clubhouse!

Understanding the Role of Personal Branding in Auto Dealership

Branding is often seen as a complex concept associated with marketing and reputation. However, it fundamentally boils down to projecting your unique identity and value to your target audience.

Creating a personal brand is akin to operating a business for auto salespeople. A solid personal brand is a beacon, attracting customers who connect with your identity and values. In an industry where many transactions are one-off deals, fostering customer relationships through a personal brand encourages repeat business and cultivates loyalty.

Branding Strategies for Auto Dealerships

  1. 🤓 Educate Your Audience: This strategy positions you as an expert in your field, making you the go-to person for information and, subsequently, purchases.

  2. 🎸 Entertain Your Audience: Present your brand or offerings in an enjoyable and relatable manner, then enjoy engagement and follower growth.

  3. 💙Impact Your Audience: When your content resonates with your audience emotionally, it makes a significant impact.

The crux of these strategies is to build an authentic connection with your audience. You want customers to come to you because they value what you do, but more importantly, you want them to stay because they love who you are.

Practical Tips for Auto Dealers

  1. 💪 Create a Strong Online Presence: Ensure your digital profile effectively communicates your brand and value proposition.

  2. 🤳 Leverage Social Media: Regularly posting relevant and engaging content can help you stay top of mind with your customers.

  3. 🔌 Build a Personal Connection with Customers: Connections enhance their experience and encourage repeat business and referrals.

  4. 👍 Encourage Staff to Develop Their Brands: This can attract customers but also talent, fostering a culture of personal growth and entrepreneurial spirit.

  5. 📢 Understand and Communicate Your Unique Value Proposition: Distinguish your brand and offerings in the marketplace.

See any familiar faces on Automotive News over the weekend?

The industry news giant spoke with Paul and Kyle to hear the story of our docu-series, “More Than Cars.”

We think they did a pretty good job capturing the origin, mission, and next step of this gift we have envisioned for the community we love to push back with!

Motor Morsels: Carvana and GM

Carvana's shares dropped by 11% due to analysts' skepticism over the company's optimistic Q2 profit forecast. While the firm's profit projection of over $50 million outperformed most analysts' expectations, the challenges of selling high-priced cars amidst the recession make analysts think anything good that has happened must have been a fluke.

GM follows Ford's lead by adopting Tesla's North American Charging Standard (NACS) for its EVs. In a Twitter Spaces conversation with Tesla CEO Elon Musk, GM's CEO Mary Barra announced the decision, offering GM EV owners access to thousands of Tesla Superchargers. GM-produced EVs featuring Tesla's charging ports are set to arrive in 2025.

TL; DR – VinFast is making deliveries in North America, Canrvan has high hopes, but nobody believes them apparently, and GM is getting in on the Tesla charging game.

HR: Hiring Robot

Giphy/TELUS STORYHIVE

The next hiring manager you try to please may be a robot.

Applicant Tracking System robots are algorithms, machine learning, and predictive analytics are assisting hiring managers in sorting and assessing candidates.

Not long ago, we discussed a push against using AI to beef up resumes. Now the conversation has shifted to making sure the robot isn't using any unfair bias in its decision to file some of the resumes (that it may have written?) in the trash can.

Telling it like it is – Can we just move on to the part of all these where the robots do all the work so we don't have to impress them anymore?
